Saint Paul Farmer’s Market Finds: Week 1

Since I’m a regular at the St Paul Farmer’s Market during the spring and summer, I thought it would be fun to start writing weekly posts about the goodies that I find there! 

This was the opening weekend, and since the weather has been back-and-forth here lately (it was 70 degrees last weekend…then it snowed…then it snowed again) there really wasn’t a lot available there this time.  It was mostly meat, eggs, dairy products and some other fun vendors that were selling things like granola, bread, honey and some delicious-looking baked goods.

 

I left with some fresh eggs, sourdough bread and smoked string cheese.  Plus a doughnut for Joe because who doesn’t love a surprise fresh doughnut on a Saturday morning?!

The morning/afternoon was complete with a walk through Mears Park, a yoga class at Longevity Studio and a delicious lunch at French Meadow Bakery & Cafe with one of my best friends, Bri!  If you haven’t tried French Meadow yet, you have to!!  They are a farm-to-table that serves lots of healthy options with high-quality ingredients.  I had the Zen Salad (pictured below), which was a compilation of kale, hummus, guacamole, radishes, cucumber, brown rice and other veggies. Mmmmmmmmmmm.
